Our Story

Living In Love Trust is a Zimbabwean registered charitable trust focused on empowering vulnerable children, especially orphans and those from single-parent homes. We create opportunities for sustainable growth through education, psychosocial support, mentorship, infrastructure development, and basic needs assistance.

Founded in 2015 by Thomas Tanatswa Gufu, who began by helping families in Harare one child at a time, the Trust has grown into a structured platform for impactful, community-driven change.

Today, Living In Love is more than a charitable organisation— it is a movement committed to restoring dignity and building resilient futures for children across Zimbabwe.

Our Pillars

To build sustainable communities, we focus on what truly matters.

At Living In Love Trust, we believe that lasting change comes from addressing the foundational needs of every community. Our interventions are guided by a deep understanding that true empowerment is only possible when essential systems are in place and accessible to all.

To achieve this, our work is anchored in six key pillars: Education, Health, Agriculture, Housing, Power, and Water.
These pillars form the backbone of our approach, ensuring that vulnerable children and their communities not only survive, but thrive

Education

3 in 10 school-age children in Zimbabwe are out of school.
Access to education remains one of the most urgent challenges facing vulnerable children. We support learning through school fees, infrastructure, and mentorship—because education is the foundation for opportunity, independence, and lasting change.

Health

62–72% of rural Zimbabwean girls cannot afford sanitary pads.
Lack of access to basic health and hygiene items keeps girls out of school and undermines their dignity. Our health programs focus on physical and mental well-being, menstrual health, nutrition, and access to basic medical care.

Water

60% of water sources in Zimbabwe are unsafe.
Clean water is essential for life, health, and dignity. Our water initiatives focus on access to safe drinking water and improved sanitation to reduce disease, promote hygiene, and ensure children can grow in healthy environments.

Power

Only 14% of Zimbabwe’s population has access to reliable electricity.
Without power, schools can’t function after dark, homes remain unsafe, and opportunity is stifled. We promote clean, sustainable energy solutions—particularly solar—to support learning, safety, and economic growth in under-resourced communities.

Agriculture

50% of the population is in urgent need of food.
We invest in sustainable agriculture to combat hunger, build food security, and create income-generating opportunities. Empowering families to grow their own food builds resilience, reduces dependency, and strengthens community well-being.

Housing

82% of rural populations live in dwellings with limited protection from weather and pests.
Safe shelter is a basic human right. We support the construction and rehabilitation of homes and school buildings to ensure vulnerable children live, learn, and grow in secure, weatherproof environments.
